The four-inch-long fish resembles a glass ornament, and the only colour is a small dark ball near its tail which appears to contain its heart and stomach.

Diana Mikkelsen noticed the jelly-like creature floating in the shallows of Balabagan town on January 7.
There were two other identical fish next to it, all of which were dead.

Mikkelsen said: ”It was the first time that I saw such fish in our area. At first we thought it was plastic garbage floating.
”When we looked closer there were body parts inside. It had a mouth and tail with raised marks across its body.”
Mikkelsen appealed for help to identify the alien creature and was told that it was a sea salp.

The plankton, like many invertebrates, moves through the sea by pumping water through its body which propels it forward.
The exact species she found appears to be the Salpa Maggi, which can grow up to 10 inches in length.

The only color on their body is an orange spot that stands out in the body.
The fish is best characterised as a combination of shrimp and fish.

It swims through the water by pumping water through its body, and often lives in large colonies.
Its transparent body allows it to live near the surface without detection.

The animal preys on plankton, and the population is largely dictated by availability of the food.
Crazy creatures often appear from the ocean, including an alien-like creature with mottled black-and-white tentacles that washed up on a beach in Australia.
